Tina Louise, born Tatiana Josivovna Chernova Blacker on the 11th of February 1934 is an American writer and performer. She is most well-known for her performance in Ginger Grant, a CBS situation comedy that aired from 1964 to 1967. Her first appearance was in the stage around mid-century and then landed her breakout role in 1958 drama film God's Little Acre, for which she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year.Louise was a star in several Hollywood movies, including The Trap, The Hangman, Day of the Outlaw and For Those who Think Young. Louise later returned to film and appeared in The Wrecking Crew, The Happy Ending, and The Stepford Wives.Tina Blacker was born to Jewish parents in New York City. One source claims her birthname was Tatiana Josivovna Chernova Blacker. By the time she was four years old and her parents divorced, she was born. Tina was an unmarried child and was raised by Sylvia Horn (nee Myers) her mother (1916-2011), who was a fashion model. Tina's father Joseph Blacker was a Brooklyn candy shop owner who later became an accountant. According to some rumors, Louise was given the name when she told her drama teacher that she was one of her classmates who did not have a middle name. He picked Louise as her name. Louise and it remained. She went to Miami University in Ohio.
