Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), an executive director for national operations at Mary
Kay, and Freddie Wright an executive in the field of pharmaceuticals. She was
raised in San Diego, California. She began her professional career when she was
14 working as a model. She has worked both in Paris, Japan and Paris. She made
the decision to become an actress after she had graduated from high school. She
was given a role on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984) and was nominated for
three Daytime Emmy Awards. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast member, and she
was married to Dane in 1986. She starred in the show as the princess bride
(1987) in the role of the title. After leaving Santa Barbara, she was given the
lead role in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. She got to know Sean Penn in 1990
while she was appearing in State of Grace (1990). They had one daughter Dylan
Frances with him and an infant son named Hopper Jack. Robin returned to
Hollywood after a break with one of her most memorable parts: Tara in The
Playboys (1992). She was extremely stunning and brilliant. Next, she was in
Toys (1992), in which she starred alongside Robin Williams. She gave a
hilarious performance. Wright was in the blockbuster success Forrest Gump
(1994) with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated to win a Golden Globe Award for her
role in the film as Jenny. The film offered her a small role in The Crossing
Guard (1995) along with Jack Nicholson. After being rejected for 14 roles, she
finally got the lead part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham
directed her and Stockard Channing played the role. Next, she starred with
William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
