Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born in Ottawa, Ontario
Canada on 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke, and Doug Chalke are her parents. She is
the middle child. She has one older sister Natasha Chalke and one younger,
Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut on TV in a made-for-TV film, City Boy
(1992). In 1993, after her debut film, she was a candidate for the role of
"Becky" on the TV show Roseanne (1988). The show was searching for an
alternative to Alicia Goranson, who left the show to attend studies at college.
Sarah completed her high school degree in 1995 while filming the 1994-95
Roseanne (1988) season. In 1994, Sarah starred alongside Jim Varney in Ernest
Goes to School (1994). Then, in 1996 she was in two films that included Robin
of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) in which she played the
cheerleadernamed "Krista Wilson". Sarah was also invited to star on a
television show called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) in the year after
Roseanne (1988). Based on the show Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy (1998) on
which the show also had a basis. Sarah took over the role of Becky in Roseanne
(1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. She said she wanted to take a break from
acting and go to college. 2001 (1993-1997) She was Sara Gilbert's older sister
on Roseanne (1988), however, she is actually younger. Participated in 1999's
CCMA awards ceremony and was presented with the award for the top single.
(September, 1999) Appeared on local Vancouver performances of the theater, at
the age of 8. A native speaker of French as well as German. She works at a
hospice that cares for terminally ill children. In her leisure time, Chalke
prefers cooking with friends (especially Thai and sushi) as well as playing the
guitar or hiking, ski (she's an instructor), snowboarding, kayaking and
reading. Her father is a lawyer, and both of her parents are mediators and run
a child adoption agency. In the past, she accompanied her parents to China to
oversee the adoption of several orphans.
