Dormer, born 11 February 1982, is an English actress from England. Her
accolades include an Empire Award, nominations for the Critics Choice Award,
two Gemini Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in
Reading, Berkshire. She became famous in the role of Anne Boleyn, a role she
played on the Showtime series The Tudors (2008), which earned her widespread
acclaim. In Sweet Nothings (2010), she made her stage debut and she also played
the Duchess Of York in Madonna's W.E. (2011), Private Lorraine in Captain
America The First Avenger (2011). After Miss Julie (2012) in the Young Vic, was
highly praised. Dormer was praised for her performances in After Miss Julie
(2012) at the Young Vic. She was also a part of Irene Adler/Moriarty on the CBS
series Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price (2016, 2017) and Onica in
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her work was highly praised for her
character in Penny Dreadful City of Angels (2020). Dormer was born in Reading,
Berkshire, England, on 11 February 1982. She was the daughter Gary Dormer and
wife Claire Richards and the sister of Mark Dormer and Samantha Dormer.
